Newrybar Farm is a typical farm comprising main house, managers house, multiple sheds containing cool rooms and other equipment, with single-phase mains power servicing the property.
Local electricity infrastructure is old and the area suffers from outages at least monthly. Productivity suffers as a result.
Newrybar Farm was looking to upgrade from single-phase to three-phase power.
The cost to upgrade from the grid was going to be in excess $250k.
The solution had to be sustainable, reliable and cost effective.
A 60kWh three-phase POWERHOUSE POWERSTATION was determined to be suitable for their power needs, at a fraction of the cost.
Included remote monitoring sees batteries discharge down to around 40% overnight and, weather permitting, are topped up to 100% the next day via an existing 20kW solar system. Single-phase mains is retained and plugged into the POWERHOUSE POWERSTATION to act as a back-up during cloudy weather. A generator can be easily hooked up if need be.
Being close to the ocean, a steel enclosure would not have been suitable. The aluminium POWERHOUSE POWERSTATION offers superior corrosion resistance, with fans and vents regulating temperature on hot days.
